Why and Where MTI's HONDA Pocket Type
Nickel Cadmium Batteries are Preferred

An electrical storage battery receives electric power, stores it in chemical form, and delivers it when required as electric power. Of the practical types of storage batteries in use today, the pocket type nickel cadmium alkaline storage battery has proved most stable and reliable in performance through years of practical application.

Profile of the MTI's HONDA Battery

The nickel cadmium storage battery is generally classified into two types: Pocket Plate and Sintered Plate type. The pocket plate type is generally more advantageous than the sintered plate type even in terms of material cost and can therefore be manufactured more economically. Furthermore, the MTI's Honda pocket plate type nickel cadmium alkaline storage battery is superior in performance, compared with the sintered plate type nickel cadmium cell.

The pocket type nickel-cadmium alkaline storage battery, though costing somewhat more, is far more economical in the long run than a lead-acid storage battery of equivalent capacity, when its higher performance, reliability and longer life are taken into account.

How far has the Performance of the MTI's HONDA Pocket Type
Nickel Cadmium Alkaline Storage Battery Advanced

A pocket type nickel cadmium alkaline storage battery uses electrode plates of pocket construction filled with active material.  How to make a very thin electrode plate had long been the biggest technical problem.  We therefore take pride in our recent success in developing a very high-rate, extra-thin pocket type electrode plate.  This new battery is known as HDV Type (or AHH Type according to the official designation of Japan Storage Battery Association).  The HDV type is now standardized officially as equivalent in performance to the sintered plate type.  This new type of pocket type nickel cadmium alkaline battery introduced by MTI's Honda is the first of its king in the world and is comparable to the sintered plate type in respect to performance.

Figs. 1 and 2 illustrate a chronological comparison of performance improvements made by
MTI's Honda for pocket type nickel cadmium alkaline battery.

These figures tell how MTI's Honda has contributed to performance improvements of the Pocket Type Nickel Cadmium Alkaline Battery.

MTI's Honda has high-performance, high-quality alkaline batteries available for users, at the most competitive prices.

MTI's Honda Pocket Type Nickel Cadmium Alkaline Storage Batteries come in five main types as indicated in Table 1, which are economically suited for an extensive range of applications.
